Annual and Perpetual Projects
Every month in Coronado, a colorful, well designed and maintained commercial area is selected. A certificate is delivered to the business and a notice with a photo is sent to the Coronado Eagle & Journal. BBGC participates in the Coronado Flower Show by sponsoring the Best Miniature Floral Arrangement and the Best Plant in the Junior Section. The Club also hosts a booth namely, Hand Tied Bouquets which provides flowers for children to create nosegays. In addition an annual $500.00 is donated to The Coronado Floral Association. A book related to gardening or horticulture is purchased in memory of a deceased member.
The Club contributes to the USDA Forest Service so they can re-plant land scarred by fire in the Cleveland National Forest. We receive one certificate for every $68 donated. The club maintains an honor garden in Spreckels park for long-time City of Coronado employee.
The club maintains a garden at the Coronado USPS to contribute to the community.
The club maintains a succulent garden at the Coronado Middle School to contribute to the community.
Holiday Appreciation to Police Department, Fire Department, Coronado Eagle Newspaper and City Hall
The club honors and delivers to the local entities a token of appreciation and gratitude for their service to the community and is done so in the form of plants, a small Christmas tree, card or store bought food items.
